I travel to the Middle East for the next two months and hope to build on Damascus, Syria. Does anyone have any suggestions or if you know of to find a worthy web site to apartments for short term?

Damascus, Syria is cheaper and much better in terms of sites and cheap housing. Do not forget to visit Zahle Lebanon. Syria are good people who can even take home for tea and talk all day lol,

The best places are not on the Internet, but if you are in Damascus. If you ask the old town is probably to find a decent one week ahead of the pack, there's a lot to rent, do not be afraid to negotiate, either as a first date is often not the best.
A place you can start in a small hostel called Hostal in Damascus, where I last year, the people are fantastic and will be a good place to be based on research (and I have an apartment on rent in the neighborhood - the hostel located in the heart of the part) of the old town of the Christians.

In Syria, it depends on the size of 2000USD / month - 200USD per month
Most Europeans prefer to rent in Bab Tuma, cuz that is the Christian Quarter, old, cheap and full of restaurants and bars.
If you are left alone to remain in a hotel 4 Stars in Albahsa (downtown) hotel Aliwa 30USD/Night
