Replacing my factory installed fireplace with a more efficient insert or wood stove-brands performance anyone? - soapstone wood burning stoves
I bought a house with what I thought, was built in a wood fireplace insert ... is unlocked only a fireplace with a blower and glass doors. When the doors close, heat is the same as standing against a wall. In addition, I managed to melt the grill last season trying to heat the room? Therefore I would like to remove and replace them with a real fireplace insert. I understand there are made for fireplaces fireplace inserts .. As I see it has four obvious problems here:
1) You do not know the difference between a real fireplace and an electric heater.
2) You live in a trailer, where the insulation is probably not.
3 They do not) to "deforestation" want to heat the house (are you?) In CA.
4) You want others to do your homework for you.
I just do it:
Soapstone wood stoves are probably the best for even heating. You do not get as fast as regular wood stoves, but they radiate heat much longer than cast iron.
On the issue of deforestation: How much wood do you use? I come before with four strings (of which one never cut wood?), Some with less need for more insulation, less part to the need for better insulation. I live in a 1,500 square meter in the PNW.
